| Renters Bill of Rights – Education, Enforcement, and Enhancement of Rights
The Biden Administration’s Blueprint for a Renters Bill of Rights (Blueprint) was introduced on January 25, 2023 to drive action at the federal, state, and local levels to strengthen tenant protections and housing affordability. One of the principles outlined in the Blueprint is that governmental bodies should do all they can to enforce fair housing laws, protect renters from unlawful discrimination, and ensure renters know their legal rights. |

| Housing Availability and Affordability Toolkit
Nearly half of U.S. households cannot afford their rent, home prices have been skyrocketing in recent years, and government-subsidized programs for affordable housing are unable to meet current needs. This toolkit includes resources that explore program and policy approaches for all levels of government, public health advocates, non-profit organizations, and others, to improve housing affordability and availability and thereby improve the health and wellbeing of families in their communities and across the country.

This resource from the Public Health Law Center provides a snapshot of U.S. e-cigarette regulations and is based on a survey of current state statutes in the 50 states, Washington, D.C., and five U.S. territories in the following areas: definition of “tobacco product,” taxation, product packaging, youth access/other retail restrictions, licensure, and smoke-free air legislation. The Center for Public Health Law Research’s Policy Surveillance Institute is intended for individuals interested in studying policies and law once they are enacted and exploring variation in policy across jurisdictions over time. Participants will learn each step in the policy surveillance process with live training from experts from the Center for Public Health Law Research on policy surveillance software and through collaborative exercises.

The Network is seeking a Deputy Director of Policy, Equity, and Community Impact to support our efforts to strengthen the connections between public health agencies and communities, with the goal of building engagement and capacity in law and policy to advance public health. The Deputy Director will lead strategy development, manage programs, provide technical assistance on specific issues, conduct training, develop tools and education materials, and facilitate opportunities for networking and peer assistance.
