Over 400 stakeholders in public health joined the Network in Minneapolis, October 24-26 to explore how law and policy can be leveraged to advance health equity, improve data sharing for community health, protect access to reproductive health, and facilitate systems change. Collaborative for Anti-Racism & Equity Declarations Library
Declarations of racism as a public health crisis are an important step to acknowledge structural racism as a determinant of health and identify steps to advance racial equity. These declarations come in many forms, including formal statements, resolutions, proclamations, executive orders, and letters. This searchable library contains 286 declarations of racism as a public health crisis, searchable by keyword, state, type, and status, and a downloadable PDF of the declaration. The Legal Path to a Whole of Government Opioids Response
This project of the Center for Public Health Law Research constructs a whole-of-government assessment of policy strength and comprehensiveness through practical evidence assessments, policy briefs, and an open-access data portal to promote and monitor progress in developing multi-faceted, effective overdose prevention policy frameworks that address deeper social drivers of health in the United States. This tracker provides information and official court documents from select lawsuits within the focus areas of the Public Health Law Center, including commercial tobacco control and healthy eating. Some cases are relevant to cross-cutting issues that affect public health, such as preemption and First Amendment considerations. |

The Network is seeking a Region Director to provide strategic and organizational leadership for the Network’s Western Region team. This role is responsible for overseeing the Region’s strategic and sustainability planning, day-to-day operations, legal technical assistance, outreach efforts, and product development activities. The Network seeks a Communications Manager to assist in raising our national profile, engage with our key constituents, expand our reach, and improve our support to communities around the country. The ideal candidate will be social media savvy with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for implementing and managing communications campaigns and developing written and creative content.
